Berlin, October 7, 2009 - In Nuremberg this year, Innominate Security Technologies will be presenting the first OEM products based on the current version 7.0 of its field-proven mGuard firmware with combined router, firewall, and VPN technology for secure industrial networks and remote service connections. For the first time, this version is offering multi-platform support beyond the originally addressed ARM processors and is also available for embedded security OEM solutions based on CPUs with Intel x86 and PowerPC architectures. And not just for the Ethernet world: scenarios with cellular wireless and satellite connections are supported as well. This provides flexible hardware and software options for machine and equipment builders and their suppliers to integrate tailored network security into their portfolios with minimal development effort.

One example will be the new security router FL MGUARD GT/GT, introduced to the market by Phoenix Contact, a DIN-rail device with Gigabit Ethernet support and modular SFP connectors for optical fibers.

As another example, based on a Kontron Industrial Silent Server in 19-inch format, Innominate will present its high-end Firewall/VPN Gateway mGuard centerport as centralized infrastructure for remote services solutions. This device features Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and supports VPN connection of any quantity of systems in VPN tunnel groups with up to 1.000 concurrently active tunnels. It provides more than 300 MBit/s of encrypted VPN data throughput to secure remote services such as remote assistance, diagnosis, maintenance, and condition monitoring of large quantities of machinery and plant equipment over the Internet.

A further innovation is mGuard CIFS Integrity Monitoring, a firmware extension for the surveillance of CIFS file systems - better known as Windows file shares – guarding against malware infestation. With its integrity checking function and antivirus scanning connector, Innominate presents a novel, industry suitable alternative to conventional antivirus solutions to protect Windows-based automation components.

Clever mGuard partner solutions and attractive managed services for remote connectivity provided by team2work and Propius complement the exposition offerings at the Innominate booth.
